Sports Facilities

The sports club of Eppelsheim (VfL Eppelsheim = Club for Physical Exercises) has taken on the responsibility of building sports facilities on its own. In February 1974 after long and intensive planning the members began to erect the gym and in August 1975 - within only 17 months - it was finished.

There is now a hall, 15x27 m in size, with the appropriate storage and changing rooms and a pub with two bowling alleys. In 1978 athletics facilities and two tennis courts were opened. A third tennis court was added in 1984.

Besides training and sports competitions the hall is also used for cultural events like carnival, the Eppelsheim country fair and theatre performances.
